Our Services
Our goal is to treat patients using traditional techniques of Acupuncture along with herbal therapy.
Gua Sha
This involves the use of a smooth tool to stroke the skin and increase circulation. This can promote detoxification, relax tight muscles, and encourage healing. Gua sha translates to “scrape sand,” which refers to the light, speckled bruising on the skin after treatment.
This bruising can last
anywhere from 1 to 7 days and is not painful or sensitive. It is often used for various types of pain but can also help to improve lymphatic flow.
Herbal Medicine
The Chinese Materia Medica describes thousands of medicinal substances – primarily plants, but also some minerals and animal products.
Different parts of plants, such as leaves, roots, stems, flowers, and seeds, are used. Herbs are often combined in formulas and given as teas, capsules, liquid extracts, granules, or powders.
At Ancient Spring Acupuncture you can expect a tailored formula for your needs with the highest quality herbal products.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a drug-free alternative for treating a wide variety of dis-ease, from chronic and acute pain to balanced hormonal health, to emotional health.
Tiny needles are inserted into the body at specific points to promote restoration and rebalancing of the body’s healing abilities.
Dry Needling
This is an acupuncture technique used to treat trigger point or myofascial pain.
Combining modern acupuncture techniques with electro-acupuncture and muscle motor point stimulation provides possibilities that other medical modalities cannot.
Moxibustion
This is a traditional heat therapy utilizing the processed leaves of the herb Artemisia Vulgaris, which is burned above specific acupuncture points and is particularly effective when treating weakness conditions as well as conditions where the body feels cold or tired.
Modern research has
shown that moxa treatment can enhance vitality, such as in raising white blood cell counts in severely
debilitated patients.
Cupping
This is a therapeutic technique that assists in relieving muscle tension through the use of suction.
This encourages blood flow, loosens muscles, and sedates the nervous system. Cupping can be especially helpful to encourage anti-inflammatory chemicals in the body.
